| Turmalina is an underground mine utilizing the "sublevel stoping" and the "cut and fill" mining methods with paste fill. Turmalina was commissioned in November of 2006 and is currently processing 1,300 tonnes per day of ore in the CIP (carbon-in-pulp) plant.
Location
The Turmalina mining complex is located 140 km northwest of Belo Horizonte by paved road. Belo Horizonte is a city of over 4 million people and considered to be the mining capital of Brazil.
Proven and Probable Reserves
3,602,600 tonnes with an average grade of 5.17 grams per tonne containing 599,420 ounces of gold to an average depth of 390 meters.
Measured and Indicated Resources (include mineral reserves above)
5,609,690 tonnes with an average grade of 5.58 grams per tonne containing 990,040 ounces of gold.
Inferred Resources
1,627,020 tonnes with an average grade of 5.55 grams per tonne containing 290,150 ounces of gold.
Projected Annual Production
Between 75,000 to 80,000 ounces of gold in 2009, targeting approximately 185,000 ounces of gold in 2013.
Expansion Plan
Jaguar's plan is to add tonnage from the multiple ore bodies identified at Turmalina through further development of these gold bearing structures and expand the existing processing plant to reach annual production levels of approximately 185,000 ounces by 2013. As all of the existing structures are open at depth, Jaguar's management believes additional resources will support operations at this level for many years beyond the current resource base. In addition, Jaguar has an active exploration program along strike at Turmalina where several additional mineralized zones are known to exist.
