| Caeté's mining complex is composed of two underground mines (Roça Grande and Pilar) that utilize a combination of "cut and fill" and "selective stoping" mining methods. Ore produced from these mines is transported to the adjacent 2,200 tonnes per day capacity CIP (carbon-in-pulp) processing plant.
Jaguar's Caeté gold operation was commissioned in June 2010; commercial production is expected during the fourth quarter of 2010.
Location
Caeté is located 65 km from Belo Horizonte by paved road. Belo Horizonte is a city of over 4 million people and considered to be the mining capital of Brazil.
Proven and Probable Reserves
9,244,680 tonnes with an average grade of 3.55 grams per tonne containing 1,055,180 ounces of gold.
Measured and Indicated Resources (include mineral reserves above)
15,982,210 tonnes with an average grade of 3.84 grams per tonne containing 1,971,080 ounces of gold.
Inferred Resources
4,491,740 tonnes with an average grade of 4.94 grams per tonne containing 713,750 ounces of gold.
2010 Projected Annual Production
30,000 ounces of gold in 2010.
Expansion Plan
Jaguar's plan is to add tonnage from the multiple mineralized zones identified at the Roça Grande zone and additional exploration and development of the higher-grade Pilar ore body. As these gold bearing structures are further developed, Jaguar intends to expand the Caeté processing plant. As the existing structures at both Roça Grande and Pilar are open at depth, Jaguar's management believes additional resources will support operations at this level for many years beyond the current resource base. In addition, Jaguar has an active exploration program in close proximity to the Caeté processing plant where several additional mineralized zones are known to exist.
